Got the claws out!

Morning all! Happy Wednesday! My week is rolling along. I thought I would take a minute to discuss some things.
So, I'm an avid reader of the Nylon Magazine blog. I love the fashion and beauty tid-bits. There was one particular post this morning about an outfit Reese Witherspoon was wearing. They talk about the dress and shoes, but instead of closing with how amazing she looks, they discuss whether or not she is a "Nylon girl". Deciding that she is one based on the fact she was in Cruel Intentions. That peeved me a little. Here is an incredibly successful, beautiful woman who is in a hot little number and they're trying to decide if she's right for their blog. As a reader, I identify more with Reese Witherspoon than the typical young fashionista sprawling the pages of the magazine. Am I a Nylon girl?
It's so important not to alienate your audience. Even if it's through one little blog post (which I admit, I may do with this little one today). I would like to focus not on the name of the magazine but on the thought that someone didn't belong. It got me thinking, what are we trying portray at Renaissance Salon? What "girl" do we want to see? I can tell you, we have every type of girl there is! Rich Girls, Brown Eyed Girls, West End Girls (a la Gwen Stefani, Van Morrison and the Pet Shop Boys). And yes, we even have boys. I love that we are such a welcoming group of people. It's really one of the main reasons I chose to work at Renaissance!
Well that's my rant for today. While I don't have real cat claws, I can pretend when I wear these shoes (while I pretend I have these shoes!)
The Christian Louboutin "Alex" pump.

Let me know what kind of girl (or boy) you are! Also, what's your dream shoe??

  1. First of all......gimme. I would wear these shoes with pajamas, i would wear them to the grocery store, i would wear them even if my feet were screaming in protest because they are breathtakingly odd.
I like being the "kind of girl" who can wear jeans and toms slip on shoes one day and a vintage fifties dress the next and feel totally comfortable in either. I'm into working somewhere that doesn't have one specific kind of feeling or attitude. .... we are the See's Candy bridge mix of folks here, just how i like it :)
